Shakespeare's Globe is a three-week, three-credit intensive course on the material and cultural contexts for early modern drama, exploring the history and construction of both the original and reconstructed Globe Theatres. WMU's affiliate partner AIFS is the only organization in London with direct access to the reconstructed Globe Theater, ensuring students a unique experience.
The course will focus on plays that have been performed in the Globe Theatre. It seeks to demonstrate the historical and current value of Shakespeare’s plays by engaginf with text and language, space, the materials of theater practice, and the unique relationship between actors and audience at the Globe.
