WMU DI Pre-Selection Admissions Process

The WMU Dietetic Internship program (WMU DI) offers a pre-selection application option for students who are currently WMU seniors planning to finish the WMU DPD program by end of spring semester 2024.  Those accepted through the pre-select admission option will commit to attending the WMU Dietetic Internship Program in 2024-25 and bypass the normal Spring DICAS computer matching application and selection process.

The WMU DI plans to select up to six applicants through this process.  If not all six spaces are filled, any remaining may be filled, along with the rest of the class, through the DICAS computer matching process to a maximum of the 10 we are accredited to admit.

Procedure:

Application: the Dietetic Internship program application is open from January 1 to April 30. Apply now (form is only live during open period).
Fee:
$30 (prompted to pay after submitting your application).

DICAS: Applicants using the pre-select admissions process will complete and submit their application through DICAS (https://portal.dicas.org) by January 15, 2024.
Letters of recommendation need also be submitted to DICAS by January 15, 2024.
Transcripts: Arrange for your transcript, including grades for Fall 2022, be sent electronically by WMU Registrar to DICAS (follow the DICAS instructions). Fall grades will be posted on December 19. The WMU Registrar's office is open through 5 p.m. December 22 and will reopen at 8 a.m. on January 3, 2024.  In addition, students can request transcripts 24/7 through WMU's online partner, www.parchment.com. The WMU Registar's office monitors Parchment through winter break.
For more information, applicants should also consult the WMU DI website and read the Application Process page and the Admissions checklist (pdf file) located there.

Notification: You will be notified of the pre-select decision by late January.   If you are selected, your name will be sent to D&D Digital with the understanding that you have already been matched to WMU’s internship program and therefore not eligible to match elsewhere.  (You do not apply to D&D Digital.)

If you are not selected through the pre-selection process, your application will be considered along with other applications submitted through DICAS during the Spring 2024 application process unless you indicate you do not want that.  You do not pay an additional application fee to WMU.  You will, however, need to apply to D&D Digital (https://www.dnddigital.com) in order to be eligible for DI matching.
