Hydrogeology Field Course Logistical Support
The Department of Geological and Environmental Sciences at Western Michigan University deeply values our Hydrogeology Field Course. As such, we try to do everything we can to help accommodate our HFC participants. To this end, we have compiled a list of resources that we hope will make your stay in Kalamazoo as easy and enjoyable as possible.
Lodging
HFC participants are responsible for securing their own lodging and meals. Participants visiting Kalamazoo from elsewhere should consult the following options for information regarding temporary lodging.
- WMU Residence Life and guest housing
- WMU Apartments
- Past HFC participants have also camped at local campgrounds, stayed at long-term hotels, roomed together at short-term rentals such as an Airbnb or VRBO and/or signed short-term subleases.
Child care
There are many childcare options and resources near campus and around Kalamazoo. Visit the Child Care Resources page for more information.
Parking
Those HFC participants who will be parking their personal vehicles on campus are required to purchase a parking pass from Parking Services for the term that they are enrolled. Parking passes for these sessions are currently $65. The closest parking is in Lot 61. Students are required to parking in "W" student parking spaces.
- Request a permit
- WMU campus map (with Parking Services information).
