Contact for emergency assistance, transportation to a safe place, or to report a sexual assault. WMU Police will be the investigating agency for any assault that occur on WMU property. Reports may be filed at the station. A report may be filed without pursuing criminal charges.

They meet with students that are exhibiting symptoms of distress and who are struggling emotionally, provide assessment and screening to assist the student in stabilizing their situation, problem solve to assist the student so they can be successful, connect students with both on campus and community based resources, coordinate with various departments on campus and also community providers to ensure the needs of students and crisis situations are addressed in a timely manner. A concern form can be completed online by any faculty, staff, or student who is concerned about a particular student on the Student Affairs Student of Concern page.

This is a confidential service available 24 hours a day for crisis intervention, suicide prevention, and other free community services. They can provide mediation services for a conflict that may need a third party; this includes working with the court system if needed. You may also dial 211 for information and referrals.

RAINN operates the National Sexual Assault Hotline and the National Sexual Assault Online Hotline services, educates the public about sexual assault, and leads national efforts to prevent sexual assault, improve services to victims and ensure that perpetrators are brought to justice. Highly trained staff specializing in sexual assault cases, can offer emotional support for victims and families, and information or referrals for court matters through staff and Volunteer Victim Advocates. They also provide child advocacy services, counseling services and support groups for adults and children, 24-hour medical forensic examination for victims of sexual assault, programs and education to raise awareness of sexual assault, court system support and advocacy, and victim advocates.

The YWCA Kalamazoo currently provides services to survivors of intimate partner violence and sexual assault. The services include shelter, individual and support group counseling, therapy, advocacy with the criminal and civil justice system, health care, SANEs (Sexual Assault Nurse Examinations), employment and housing assistance, information and referral, a 24-hour crisis line, and safety planning.

Sexual Assault Services is committed to providing empathetic, non-judgmental, comprehensive services, support and advocacy for survivors and others affected by sexual assault or abuse; raising awareness of sexual assault; and engaging others to join in working toward a community free of sexual violence. Sexual Assault Services can also provide counseling and a sexual assault nurse examiner.

The FIRE Place is a resource and support center that addresses the issues of sexual assault and other bias incidents. It provides peer support and education, serves as a resource center, supports students through the reporting process and facilitates a number of art and awareness projects. The center works to create and maintain a network with other programs on Western Michigan University's campus and in the community, offering assistance navigating the services that may be most beneficial to a student's needs.
