KALAMAZOO, Mich.—A 49-10 win against arch rival Central Michigan University and the chance to take home the rivalry's Cannon Trophy for the third straight time was just the start of the Western Michigan University Broncos' Oct. 1-2 weekend.

Following the win at Mt. Pleasant in the Battle for the Cannon, the Broncos, led by head coach P.J. Fleck, were ranked in the USA Today Amway Coaches Poll for first time in program history. Debuting at No. 25 in the poll, the Broncos are 5-0, with wins against two Big 10 teams—Northwestern and Illinois. It is also just the fourth time in Mid-American Conference history a school has beaten two Big 10 opponents in the same season.

Individually, Corey Davis broke the MAC career receiving record on Saturday, surpassing fellow Bronco Jordan White who held the record at 4,187 yards from 2006-11. Davis also tied WMU great and former NFL star Greg Jennings for the school record with 39 career TD receptions. Overall, Davis has 4,252 career receiving yards which is the 11th most in FBS history. He is 753 yards away from the all-time record.

The Broncos play next at Waldo Stadium in an Oct. 8 homecoming game against Northern Illinois. Kickoff is at 6:30 p.m. The game will be broadcast on CBS Sports Network.
