At 8-0, WMU is one of five teams in the nation to remain undefeated.

KALAMAZOO, Mich.—Following a bye week, the Western Michigan University football Broncos moved up to No. 17 in the AP Poll and No. 18 in the USA Today Amway Coaches Poll.

Four previously undefeated college football teams suffered losses over the weekend, making WMU one of only five teams left standing.

The Broncos, led by head coach P.J. Fleck, defeated Eastern Michigan 45-31 Oct. 22 to improve to 8-0 and 4-0 in the Mid-American Conference. The eight-game winning streak matches the 1941 team's program record.

WMU will travel to Muncie, Indiana, for a midweek game versus Ball State Tuesday, Nov. 1. A win will move the Broncos to 9-0 and surpass the best start in program history. Other remaining games on the schedule are against Kent State, Buffalo and Toledo.

Remaining schedule

  • Tuesday, Nov. 1, 8 p.m., away at Ball State
  • Tuesday, Nov. 8, 7:30 p.m., away at Kent State
