Football Broncos move up to No. 14 in AP rankings

KALAMAZOO, Mich.—Following a midweek win at Ball State, the Western Michigan University football Broncos moved up three spots to No. 14 in the AP Top 25 college football rankings and fell to No. 21 in the USA Today Amway Coaches Poll.

Under the direction of head coach P.J. Fleck, WMU is currently No. 23 in the College Football Playoff rankings, which will be updated at 7 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 8, just a half hour before the WMU-Kent State kickoff.

The Broncos defeated Ball State 52-20 Tuesday, Nov. 1, to improve to 9-0 and 5-0 in the Mid-American Conference, surpassing the best start in program history. Senior wide receiver Corey Davis set the WMU single-game record with 272 yards receiving. He also caught three touchdowns, bringing his career total to 47 and tying the MAC career touchdown record.

WMU will travel to Ohio for another Tuesday night game versus Kent State Nov. 8. The final two games against Buffalo and Toledo will be home at Waldo Stadium.
