Campus service hours and closures you need to know during spring recess 2025
KALAMAZOO, Mich.—Western Michigan University will operate with reduced hours for some campus services during spring recess, which runs from Monday, March 3, through Friday, March 7. Additionally, all staff will observe a closure day on March 7.
While there are no classes on Friday, Feb. 28, due to Spirit Day, most offices will remain open during regular hours throughout spring recess. However, faculty, staff, students and visitors are encouraged to check in advance to confirm the hours of specific offices.
Daylight Saving Time begins on Sunday, March 9, and classes will resume at 8 a.m. on Monday, March 10.

Office closings apply to non-represented University employees. Many represented employees may have contractually scheduled regular work days March 3-7 since the University continues to provide services during the recess. WMU offices and facilities
Many offices, including the Office of Admissions, Bronco Express and the Office of Student Transitions will maintain regular hours March 3-6 but will be closed Friday, March 7.
WMU Busing Main Campus and Parkview routes and the Aviation Shuttle will not run Feb. 28 – March 7.
The Information Technology Help Desk will maintain regular hours for walk-in and phone support March 3-6, but it will be closed March 7.
WMU Student Center will be open Feb. 28 from 7 a.m. to 11 p.m., March 1-2 from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m., March 3-6 from 7 a.m. to 8 p.m., March 7-8 from 8 a.m. to 7 p.m. and March 9 from 9 a.m. to 11 p.m.
The WMU Bookstore, PNC Bank, FedEx and most student center eateries will be open weekdays during spring recess but closed on weekends. The bookstore also will be closed March 7.
Miller Auditorium will maintain regular business hours throughout the recess.
Sindecuse Health Center, including the pharmacy, will maintain regular hours March 3-6 but will be closed March 7. Medical emergencies should be referred to local hospitals or other health care providers.
The Student Recreation Center (SRC) is open Feb. 28 from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m., March 1 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., and March 2-6 from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.; closed March 7-8; and open March 9 from 5 to 9 p.m. The pool, sauna and climbing wall are closed Feb. 28 - March 9. The main office will be open Feb. 28 and March 2-6 from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. The SRC resumes regular hours at 6 a.m. on March 10.
Unified Clinics will maintain regular hours throughout the recess.
Dining
WMU Student Center Dining is open Feb. 28 from 8 a.m. to 7 p.m., closed March 1-2, open March 3-6 from 8 a.m. to 7 p.m., and closed March 7-9. DASH Grab‘n Go will be open from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. on the days WMU Student Center Dining is closed, March 1-2 and 7-9.
The Valley Dining Center (VDC) will close after dinner on Thursday, Feb 27—Late-Night Carryout at Café 1903 will not be open—and will reopen for dinner service on March 9 from 5-8 p.m. View the full dining schedule.
Libraries
Waldo Library will have reduced hours for spring recess beginning Thursday, Feb. 27. Waldo Library is open 7:30 a.m. to 10 p.m. Feb. 27 and from 7:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. Feb. 28, closed March 1-2, open 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. March 3-6, and closed March 7-8. Regular hours will resume March 9. Bookmark Café will be closed Feb. 28 - March 9.
