WMU helps you prioritize your physical wellness

With 240,000 square feet of space to break a sweat, the Student Recreation Center has activities of almost every type. Our massive facility has a multitude of recreational features and exercise equipment so you can reach your goals—no matter where you are in your fitness journey.

Here are just a sampling of what we offer at the SRC:

  • GroupEx studio
  • 45-foot indoor climbing wall
  • Six racquetball courts
  • Indoor cycling studio
  • F45 Functional Training studio
  • Intramural sports soccer fields

Expanded functional training area in progress!

Pardon our dust while we make some changes to the cardio room at the SRC! We are currently working on expanding our functional training and body weight exercise area in that space. Several of the cardio machines that were in that area have been relocated to the weight room or first floor hallway. As part of the changes, we will be adding a few new machines soon that will focus on developing legs and glutes! We hope to have these changes all in place by the conclusion of fall break.

Open recreation

Who says working out can't be fun, relaxed and social? The Student Recreation Center strives to provide plenty of open recreation and programmable space for students, faculty, staff and members. Check out our many options below.

Work toward your fitness goals

I’ve been going to the SRC all four years here at Western. I can say it’s been one of the most pivotal moments of my life because it’s where I’ve met some of the most important people to me. I’ve been able to network and branch out, and I’ve been able to do things for the community and meet many different people. It’s given me the chance to broaden my horizons and meet people from all different walks of life. I’ve made real, lifelong relationships.
