About Us

More ways to move, more ways to be you.

At Western Michigan University, well-being looks different for everyone. University Recreation is here to help you find what works for you. Whether you’re lifting in our weight room, climbing the 45-foot wall, playing basketball, taking an F45 class, competing in intramurals or simply finding a place to recharge, the Student Recreation Center gives the WMU community space to Be Active, Be Positive, Be Well and Be You.

As part of the Division of Student Affairs, University Recreation provides recreational programs, facilities and experiences that support a healthy, active campus while helping students develop skills that extend beyond the classroom. The Student Recreation Center features spaces for fitness, sports, recreation, gaming and more. Our University Recreation facilities also extend beyond the SRC, with the Esports Arena at Little Theater, Intramural Soccer Fields, Intramural Softball Complex and Sorensen Tennis Courts.

At the heart of everything we do is a commitment to teamwork, belonging, growth, responsibility and well-being. We strive to create welcoming spaces where everyone can find their place, pursue their interests and take an active role in their well-being. Whatever recreation means to you, there’s a place for you here.
