Student Recreation Center general gifts

University Recreation cultivates transferable skills through recreational programs and facilities that prepare the  University community for a positive, healthy, active life. We strive to lead WMU in the cultivation of a healthy campus focused on well-being, while serving as a key contributor to student success. Your contributions help us create opportunities for the entire University community to enhance their social, mental and physical well-being. Gifts to the general SRC fund support strategic investments in University Recreation in equipment and new programs for Aquatics, Fitness, Outdoor Education, Sport Clubs and Intramural Sports.

Amy J. Seth Student Development Fund

This fund is named in honor of Amy J. Seth, the first female director for University Recreation from 2000 to 2024. During her tenure, she was a strong advocate for student development and helping students become successful young professionals. Funds can be used to support a variety of options for University Recreation student employees to experience additional professional development opportunities that they may not be able to afford otherwise.  Some of these opportunities could include attending state, regional or local conferences, obtaining certifications, student recognition, or other opportunities that may arise that will benefit their future careers.

Sports Club Council fund

Funds can be used to support sport clubs in a variety of ways, such as league dues and entry fees, out of state travel, attend regional and national competitions, or purchase of equipment and facility rental. As a club alumnus or as an individual that supports the mission and activity of a sport club,  we encourage donations to the club of your choice. All of our clubs are student run organizations on campus that receive minimal funding from the university. In order for their continued success, the clubs must fund-raise to match their needs throughout the year. These students volunteer their time and effort outside of their busy academic schedules to pursue their sporting interests. Donations from family, friends, and alumni are crucial to their success as a club on and off the field. If you are interested in helping a specific club, you can do so indicating the name of the club in your comments.
