KALAMAZOO, Mich.—No Western Michigan University classes will be held during Thanksgiving recess from noon Wednesday, Nov. 22, through Sunday, Nov. 26.
Classes resume at 8 a.m. Monday, Nov. 27.
Some WMU offices will close or operate on limited hours Thursday through Sunday, Nov. 23-26.
Office closings apply to non-represented University employees. Many represented employees have contractually scheduled regular work days Nov. 23-26 since the University continues to provide services during Thanksgiving recess. Represented employees should direct questions to their management.
Public events scheduled on campus during the holiday weekend include:
- Friday, Nov. 24, 7:05 p.m., Bronco hockey vs. Colgate University at Lawson Ice Arena. Tickets: wmubroncos.com or (888) 4-WMU-TIX.
- Saturday, Nov. 25, 2 p.m., Bronco men's basketball vs. Northwood University at University Arena. Tickets: wmubroncos.com or (888) 4-WMU-TIX.

Hours for WMU offices and services
Listed below are hours for selected University offices and services. Employees, students and the public are encouraged to call ahead to make sure that a particular office on campus is open. For emergencies only, contact WMU Public Safety at (269) 387-5555.
Bernhard Center and Bronco Mall close at 5:30 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 22, and will remain closed Thursday through Saturday. Biggby Coffee, K-Zoo Coney and the Bernhard Center Café and Market will close at 2 p.m. Wednesday, the bookstore is open until 3 p.m. and PNC and Subway until 5 p.m. that day. The Bernhard Center will be open 10:30 a.m. to midnight Sunday. Subway will be open reduced hours 3 to 11 p.m. All other offices and Bronco Mall stores will be closed until Monday morning. Bronco Transit buses will stop running at 5:30 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 22, and will resume normal operations Monday, Nov. 27.
Sindecuse Health Center, including the pharmacy, is closed Thursday through Sunday, Nov. 23-26. Medical emergencies should be referred to local hospitals or other health care providers.
Student Recreation Center closes at 5 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 22, is closed Thursday through Saturday, Nov. 23-25, and is open from noon to 4 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 26. The recreation center resumes normal hours Monday, Nov. 27, at 6 a.m.
Unified Clinics are open normal hours Wednesday, Nov. 22, and closed Thursday through Sunday, Nov. 23-26.
All WMU Libraries close at 5 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 22, and remain closed Thursday, Nov. 23. Waldo is open noon to 6 p.m. Friday and Saturday and open from noon Sunday to 2 a.m. Monday. The Swain Education and Maybee Music Libraries remain closed through Saturday and are open Sunday from 2 to 10 p.m. Archives remains closed through Sunday. The Help Desk closes at 5 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 22, and will remain closed Thursday through Saturday, and reopens at noon Sunday, Nov. 26. The Mobile Help Desk is closed Wednesday, Nov. 22, through Saturday, Nov. 25, and reopens at 7 p.m. on Sunday, Nov. 26.
Bernhard Computing Center in the Bronco Mall closes at 5 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 22, is closed Thursday through Saturday, and reopens at 10:30 a.m. Sunday, Nov. 26.
University Computing Center lab closes at 5 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 22, is closed Thursday through Saturday, and reopens at noon Sunday, Nov. 26.
To reduce energy costs during the recess, heating and cooling systems in all office and classroom buildings controlled by the WMU Building Energy Management System will be in holiday mode. Air handlers will not run during this time, unless a space is exempt from the program or the temperature in a particular space goes outside of the range of 60 to 85 degrees. Portions of a particular building that do not normally go into night setback mode will not go into holiday mode.
