The following are the admission deadlines for the Master of Public Administration and Ph.D. programs as well as the committee meeting dates to review applications. The School of Public Affairs and Administration at Western Michigan University may change these dates as necessary.
M.P.A. deadlines
Fall semester
- Early admission: Feb. 1 (early March decision)
- Regular admission: June 1 (early July decision)
- Late admission: Aug. 1 (as space is available)
Spring semester
- Oct. 1 (early November decision)
Summer sessions
- Feb. 1 (early March decision)
M.P.A. missed deadline option
If you submit your application materials after the deadline, you still may take classes during the ensuing term or semester. Prospective students may apply for Graduate Non-Degree Status through the Office of Admissions. You must submit evidence that you have completed an undergraduate degree program. The evidence includes unofficial or official transcripts or an undergraduate diploma. The granting of non-degree status enables you to register for and take classes but does not guarantee admission to the M.P.A. program. In the event that you are admitted to the M.P.A. Program, no more than nine credits completed under non-degree status may be used to satisfy M.P.A. requirements.
Ph.D. deadline
Fall semester
Ph.D. candidates for the School of Public Affairs and Administration will be reviewed only for the fall semester.
