College Committees

College Assessment Team

  • Charge: Coordinate assessment activities in support of successful accreditation of the college programs.
  • Membership: One tenured/tenure-track faculty per department and department chair. Committee chaired by associate dean for undergraduate programs and assessment.

College Curriculum Committee

  • Charge: Evaluate curriculum change proposals initiated by the the college faculty following academic affairs policy, and make recommendations to the college dean.
  • Membership: One tenured/tenure-track faculty per department; the associate dean for undergraduate programs and assessment serves as ex officio members with voting rights. Committee chaired by a faculty.

College Promotion Committee

  • Charge: Evaluate portfolio of faculty candidates for promotion from associate professor to professor, and make recommendation following the process and criteria described in the Promotion policy of the WMU-AAUP Agreement.
  • Membership: One tenured/tenure-track faculty per department. Committee chaired by a faculty.

College Safety Committee

  • Charge: Coordinate all safety-related activities; support faculty regarding lab safety, safety training and safety regulations; and make recommendations to the college executive committee on safety-related issues.
  • Membership: One lab technician per department and senior classroom technician. Committee co-chaired by senior classroom technician and a department lab technician.

Graduate Programs Council

  • Charge: Develop policy and program to advance the college graduate programs and to support the college graduate students for success; advance the discovery-driven mission of the college.
  • Membership: One graduate advisor per department. Council chaired by the college dean.

College Scholarship Committee

  • Charge: Administers college-level scholarships, including evaluation of scholarship applications.
  • Membership: One tenured/tenure-track faculty per department and one staff from dean’s office. Committee chaired by faculty.

College Technology Committee

  • Charge: Evaluate need and make recommendations on technology-related issues to the college dean and executive committee.
  • Membership: One tenured/tenure-track faculty per department. Committee chaired by Director of Information Technology.
