An Evening with Curtis Chin - “Everything I Learned, I Learned in a Chinese Restaurant: A Memoir”
Save the date! Friday, April 5, from 6 to 8 p.m., in 1750 Sangren Hall. Come meet the award-winning author, producer, director, and activist Curtis Chin, to hear him discuss his book, "Everything I Learned, I Learned in a Chinese Restaurant: A Memoir" with our special guest, Dr. Reetha Raveendran, associate VP for student affairs and dean of students.
This book is about his experience growing up Asian in Detroit and coming out to his working class, immigrant family. This book also focuses on being a first-generation college student at a predominantly white institution. The Office of Diversity and Inclusion and Asian Initiatives have also generously donated copies of the book to be given away to the first 20 attendees. Curtis will be doing book-signing at the event.
Please join the Asian Pacific American Student Association (APASA) and Sigma Psi Zeta Sorority, Inc. in welcoming Curtis back to WMU. Funding for this event is provided by Western Student Association Allocations Commission and the Mentoring for Success Program.
