Program description
Similar to the vocational industrial technology major, this major prepares students to teach industrial technology type courses at the middle or secondary level. The main difference is that this major does not require the student to document relevant work experience in the industrial area in which they would like to teach.
Accreditation
Industrial technology non-vocational major is an approved State Board of Education and North Central Accreditation for Teacher Education (NCATE) teacher education program.
Careers
Teaching in middle, junior high and senior high schools in the specific area chosen. Examples of teaching areas: auto tech, welding, construction trades, drafting and electronics.
Certification
This degree program leads to a State of Michigan K-12 or Secondary Provisional Certificate (depending on the teachable major or minor).
