Empowering Futures Transfer Housing Scholarship

Find your community. Find your family. Find your home.

About the scholarship

Created by the largest donation for a public university in U.S. history, the Empowering Futures Transfer Housing Scholarships makes the full Western experience possible for future Broncos ready to take the next step in their educational journey. Finding the right fit for college is step one; affording it is step two. And while there are opportunities to earn academic scholarships, living expenses are a substantial portion of college costs.

The Empowering Futures Transfer Housing Scholarship reduces room and board costs for qualified first-time WMU transfer students for their first year on campus. Recipients will live in the Transfer Community, a Living Learning Community specially designed to provide transfer students a strong start to WMU by creating belonging and providing enhanced community engagement and campus life.

Award amount

The Empowering Futures Transfer Housing Scholarship is valued at $3,200 for a maximum of one year.
