Students represent WMU nursing at STEM event

The Boy Scouts of America hosted its first STEM Quest event, highlighting concepts in science, technology, engineering and mathematics for elementary and middle school students. The daylong event, held at Kalamazoo Valley Community College, gave students hands-on experience building and creating in an expansive discovery makerspace using creative technology, various electronics, underwater robotics, and more.

Empower Success navigators Jared Bruner and Justin Crowley represented the WMU Bronson School of Nursing at the event, and spoke with families about what nurses do and the different types of nurse careers.

The event featured a series of interactive activities aimed at allowing attendees to learn more about STEM research in fun and playful ways. More than 30 program partners participated in the event, which featured a scavenger hunt as one of its main activities.
