Summer hours
The CHHS IT department will adjust its schedule for summer semesters beginning May 1. Walk-in and telephone support at the CHHS help desk will be available Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Outside of these hours, leave a message at (269) 387-7309, email us at chhs-helpdesk@wmich.edu, or submit a help request on go.wmich.edu. Your support issue will be addressed the next business day.

Computer labs

Computer labs

All CHHS computer labs offer standard software. Special software in each lab is listed in the table below.

  • Teaching Lab - 1416

    Instructional computer lab for courses taught by CHHS faculty. Workstations include SAS and SPSS.

    • Software includes: MatLab, SAS, Citrix (Epic Training).
  • Enabling Technology Room - 3008

    Instructional computer lab for courses taught at CHHS. Workstations include special software and hardware used primarily for programs such as blindness and low vision studies and occupational therapy and standardized testing.

    • Software includes: JAWS, ZoomText, Duxbury DBT, MatLab, SmartNav, EMWave PC, Citrix (Epic Training).
    • Hardware includes: Braille embossers, flatbed scanners, SmartNav and EMWave sensors.
    • 50 PCs (Windows 10)
  • Study Hub - 1468

    • Software includes: MatLab, ZoomText, JAWS, Kurzweill, Soothsayer, Rosetta Stone (Spanish), Dragon Naturally Speaking, SmartNav, Smart Casamba.
    • 50 PCs (Windows 10)
  • Mobile Computing Lab

    The mobile computer lab is available upon request to CHHS students during specifically requested times only. To request the mobile computer lab, contact the CHHS IT Department Help Desk at (269) 387-7309 or chhs-helpdesk@wmich.edu.

    • 20 laptops (Windows 10)
  • Unified Clinics Lab

    This lab is open to all WMU students who have clinical hours in the WMU Unified Clinics. It is located in Kalamazoo Center for Medical Studies room 3068

    • 7 PCs (Windows 10)
    • 1 iMac (Mac OS X)

  • Monday - Thursday: 7:30 a.m. to 8:30 p.m.
  • Friday: 7:30 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Summer I and II hours

  • Monday - Thursday: 8:30 a.m. to 7 p.m. 
  • Friday: 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m.
