Students, faculty and staff put on a health fair at Saturday Homecoming tailgate
On Saturday from 11 a.m. until game kick-off at 2 p.m., the WMU Alumni Homecoming Tailgate was a bustling festival full of food, live entertainment and fun family activities. Among those activities was the College of Health and Human Services Health Fair tent that was crowded with celebrants experiencing and learning about stress, relaxation, hearing health, blood sugar levels and computer use injury avoidance through exercise. Faculty and staff members joined over 30 college student volunteers in this effort, and all reported having a rewarding and enjoyable time.
Social work master’s student and communications Graduate Assistant Courtney Dunsmore played a big role in coordinating the event. She and her brother, Derek Dunsmore (B.S. interdisciplinary health services '14), were the artists “behind the W” that attracted many signers and photo-op seekers to the College of Health and Human Services tent. Appreciation goes to Ms. Dunsmore and all of the members of the college contingent for the time, expertise and creativity they gave to this successful endeavor.
