Over 160 attendees joined the WMU Office of Information Technology on Tuesday, Oct. 31, for the second annual Cybersecurity Summit. The attendees consisted of a diverse group of technical and non-technical students, instructors, staff, and exhibitors.

The summit presented participants with current global, national, and higher education cybersecurity trends from the perspective of recognized industry leaders. Among the speakers in attendance were the FBI, Cisco Talos, Michigan State Police, and WMU IT leaders. Speakers discussed the state of cybersecurity from the global perspective, the current impact on higher education, how WMU is preparing for today and tomorrow, and how every member of the community can take steps to protect our professional and personal assets.

The exhibitors at the event included registered student organizations and industry leaders. Those in attendance were the Bronco Cybersecurity Club, Business Analytics and Information Technology (BAIT) RSO, Cisco, Dell, and the Office of Information Technology.

Thank you to all those who attended! Just a reminder, the launch of the quarterly Information Security Training was announced at the summit and only takes minutes to finish. To get involved or provide feedback on the 2023 Cybersecurity Summit visit https://forms.office.com/r/0e2amNPpvg
