Find your sustainability community! WMU’s Office for Sustainability (OfS) invites you to the 2018 Sustainability Celebration on Thursday, September 27.
Beginning at noon, the OfS will host an Open House filled with live music, local and campus sustainability groups, engagement opportunities, local food, EcoJug distribution for new students and a bike giveaway. At the same time, we will have our Open Bike Shop open inside the OfS’s studio for any student and community member interested in working on and learning about their bike.
The Sustainability Celebration will conclude with a series of workshops revolving around varying sustainability topics beginning at 4 p.m. These are open to all students and community members and all workshop materials will be provided to the participants. There will be a Bike Basics Workshop and Worm Composting for Beginners. Anyone interested in participating can sign up online or at the Sustainability Celebration if spots remain.
Located on the corner of Howard and West Michigan Ave, the OfS is open Monday through Friday from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.
The mission of the OfS is to guide and assist the Western Michigan University community in fulfilling and growing its sustainability commitments. Through building a diverse and flourishing learning community around sustainability, we will continually explore and develop new opportunities to create a culture of sustainability and improve quality of life for all.
