Bio:

Emily Catania is an M.S. student in the Department of Biological Sciences at Western Michigan University. Her supervising professor is Dr. Todd Barkman and her area of study investigates protein functional evolution in the SABATH family of methyltransferases that resulted in substrate preference changing from benzoic acid to salicylic acid.
