OTA program earns full accreditation status

At its March 2024 meeting, the Accreditation Council for Occupational Therapy Education (ACOTE) granted accreditation status to Western Michigan University's Occupational Therapy Assistant bachelor's degree program. The OTA program is one of the newer offerings in the University, accepting its first cohort in the spring of 2022. The program is accredited for a period of seven years and will next be evaluated in the 2030-31 academic year. The Department of Occupational Therapy at WMU celebrated its 100 year anniversary in 2022 and offers an entry-level Doctor of Occupational Therapy degree, which is also fully accredited by ACOTE. Congratulations to Dr. Nancy Hock, chair of the department, and all the faculty and staff who worked so hard to earn this accreditation status.
