Edward Abbati cites his time at Western Michigan University as formative, laying the foundation for his future endeavors in the business world. Following graduation, he secured his first job at Ford Motor Company, with the experience providing invaluable insights into corporate operations and financial management.
In 1986, Abbati moved to San Francisco, where he earned his Master's in Business Administration at the University of San Francisco. This advanced degree equipped him with the skills necessary for leadership and strategic thinking in the competitive business landscape.
Abbati’s entrepreneurial spirit led him to join Micro Focus in 1989, marking his entry into the startup ecosystem. Over the past 35 years, he has worked in and advised 12 startup companies, with varying degrees of success. His journey through these ventures highlights his resilience and adaptability.
He continues to reside in San Francisco with his wife, Diana, and their Bernese Mountain Dog, Yogi Bear. Abbati is an avid snowboarder and enjoys spending time exploring the vibrant city of San Francisco. His love for outdoor activities and the city's unique charm reflects his balanced approach to life and work.
