Morgan Kronner decided to come to WMU because she “loved WMU’s variety of majors, the small class sizes, and the small community feel with the honors college.” After visiting the advising office, Morgan discovered industrial engineering (IE) and all of the different career paths that were possible. She was specifically interested in working at the most magical place on Earth, Walt Disney World. Morgan was lucky enough to have several internships during her college career. Her first internship was in the summer between her sophomore and junior year at Perrigo, a pharmaceutical manufacturer located in Allegan, MI. She was a process engineering intern and focused on testing and implementing new machinery. Immediately following that internship, she spent a semester working at Walt Disney World as an internal IE consultant with the facility and operation service center. She worked mostly with their distribution department, horticulture, and facility asset management. According to her, it “was a dream from the start of my journey as an IE so it was amazing to be able to accomplish that with the help of WMU and their faculty.” The following summer Morgan moved to Seattle, WA to work for Boeing in one of their additive manufacturing departments as an IE. She absolutely loved Seattle as well as Boeing and the aerospace industry. This led to her current internship with Boeing Defense and Security working with the F/A18 Service Life Modification team. Morgan’s favorite part of all her internship experiences was the opportunity to travel and explore different regions of the United States.
