Upcoming Events

September 2021

  • September 1Classes begin.
  • September 6: Labor Day.
    There are 
    no classes during the Labor Day recess. The university is closed.  If you have a Monday only class, your first meeting date for the fall is Monday, September 13.
  • September 14: Please join us for our annual Fall Picnic at Floyd Hall on Thursday, September 14, from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. on the lawn in front of Floyd Hall. This event is for students, faculty and staff, so please come out and enjoy good food and good conversation.
  • September 16: Custer Speaker Series presents Dr. Barbara Oakley, "Learn How to Learn: Powerful Mental Tools To Help Master Tough Subjects." Find Details
  • September 22: Engineering Expo (virtual).  No engineering lectures from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Join this virtual career event.
  • September 29, Engineering Employer Showcase (In-person). From 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Employers will be using the CEAS Hallways.

October 2021

  • October 2: Commencement (in-person).  Celebration for 2020-2021 graduates in Waldo Stadium beginning at 2 pm.
  • October 18: Midterm Grades are due
  • October 20 - 22: WMU Fall Break No course meetings.

November 2021

  • November 11: Custer Speaker Series presents Dr. Victor Strecher, Well-Being Expert. Find Details
  • November 24-26: Thanksgiving Recess (Recess begins at noon on Wednesday, November 24.)  No classes during the recess.

December 2021

  • December 3: Innovation Expo.  Participants will be using the CEAS Hallways.
  • December 7: Senior Design Presentations.  No CEAS lectures during the presentation times.
  • December 10: Classes end.
  • December 13 - 17: Finals Week
  • December 18: Fall Commencement

VIRTUAL EXPERIENCES: ACADEMIC COLLEGES

Experience a virtual information session with live Q&A with Scot Conant from WMU's College of Engineering and Applied Sciences. Learn more about how the college and its programs create an academic experience to prepare successful graduates. Sessions are available weekdays at 3 p.m. EDT.  Admitted students, prospective students and families are encouraged to attend. Please note that sessions and Q&A are tailored to prospective undergraduate students.

We invite incoming first-year students to grab your lunch, log-in on your device, and join a couple of our current student ambassadors to learn what student life is all about at Western Michigan University. We call it Lunchtime Live. Offered Monday through Friday at noon EDT. Registration is limited.
