Ethical Dilemmas and Legal Issues: Decision Making for Safe and Ethical Social Work Practice
This workshop addresses the use of laws, codes of ethics and ethical decision-making models to address ethical issues, resolve ethical dilemmas and prevent ethical violations. We'll analyze common ethical issues/dilemmas encountered in practice to gain understanding of alternative ways of responding to them. You will apply the code and learn an ethical decision-making model that you will apply to cases regarding issues like blurred boundaries and dual relationships, confidentiality, informed consent and self-determination. You will recognize the risks to practice with the use of technology and learn methods to safeguard practice.
