Dietetic Internship Rotations and Sites

40 weeks total*

WMU's internship is a full-time program and meets five days a week, Monday through Friday. Interns take part in supervised practice experiences in clinical nutrition, community nutrition, school food and nutrition, food service management, and wellness. Interns work mostly one to one with their preceptor or supervisor. 

The WMU Dietetic Internship provides over 1300 hours of supervised practice.

The WMU dietetic internship includes these rotations and sites in the 2024-25 academic year:

1 week (40 hours): Orientation to Program

Students at farmers market

1 week (40 hours): Orientation to Sustainable Food Systems

Included time at Kalamazoo Nature Center’s Delano Farm, Kalamazoo Farmers Market, Kalamazoo Valley Community College Food and Innovation Center

15 weeks (600 hours): Clinical Nutrition Rotation consisting of:
Clinical Core—12 weeks
Clinical Staff Relief—3 weeks
