Social work names Kim Rychener '94 Field Instructor of the Year

Kim Rychener ’94 accepts the first annual Field Instructor of the Year Award.

Social work master’s alumna Kim Rychener ’94 was selected to receive the inaugural School of Social Work M.S.W. Field Instructor of the Year Award from among three other worthy candidates. Recent award winning graduate Courtney Dunsmore, M.S.W. nominated Rychener, who was selected for best demonstrating all of the qualities, standards, and values set forth for the School of Social Work’s field instructors and the social work profession.

Upon her selection, Rychener said, “I participate as a field instructor because I want to give back to WMU and contribute to shaping kind and caring, informed and ethical social work professionals.” She was honored with the award at the School of Social Work Hooding and Pinning Ceremony on Thursday, April 30, and her name will be engraved on a plaque to be displayed in the School of Social Work.
