Reezie DeVet - Dean's Advisory Board


Reezie DeVet is the current chair of the UMRC-Porter Hills Foundation’s Board of Directors. The UMRC-Porter Hills Foundation is the charitable arm for Brio Living Services, a faith-based senior living organization that serves 8,000 older adults annually through 23 communities and service lines across lower Michigan.

With multiple degrees in nursing, nursing administration, and education, as well as a doctorate in educational leadership from Western Michigan University, Reezie brings with her a wealth of knowledge in the healthcare field, including clinical nursing, teaching experience, and administration.

Reezie spent several decades in hospital administration, including director and vice president positions in patient care services as well as chief operating officer. Before retiring, Reezie was CEO of the hospital and healthcare system in Petoskey, Michigan and oversaw its affiliation and integration into the McLaren Healthcare System. Her work with healthcare consulting companies has helped organizations improve operations and leadership capability, and she has co-authored books on quality improvement in nursing, physician practice, and ancillary services.

Reezie has also served on a variety of nonprofit boards, including the Porter Hills corporate board from 1992 to 2000, at a time of great growth in the organization’s history. She also chaired this board.

This Midland native has lived throughout West Michigan, including Holland, Petoskey, and Kalamazoo/Portage, her current home. A mother and grandmother, Reezie is active in her church and enjoys planning trips and reunions with her extended family.
