MPH student publishes Op-Ed advocating for mental health awareness

Kara Hasty, a 2026 grad of the Master's of Public Health in the School of Interdisciplinary Health Programs, recently published an Op-Ed on navigating the mental health system in the South Bend Tribune. Hasty completed the Op-Ed as an assignment in Dr. Shannon McMorrow's Health Promotion and Education class where students learn about and practice writing Op-Eds for public health advocacy. The college is proud to have public health students like Kara to represent the School of Interdisciplinary Health Programs, the college and university.
