The health center will host a return-to-campus COVID-19 vaccination clinic for students and employees of WMU. No appointment is needed for this Pfizer dose No. 1 vaccination event offered as a drive thru or walk up from 8:30 to 11:30 a.m. on Monday, Aug 30, and 1 to 4 p.m. on Tuesday, Aug. 31.

Western researcher publishes work on building rituals and purpose in an evolving workplace

Dr. Doug Lepisto’s research on work rituals will be published in the Academy of Management Journal, the premiere publication in the field of management. He shares how work rituals can inspire and give meaningfulness and purpose to employees and organizations—and how he predicts offices may evolve in light of increased remote work.

Western students gain leadership experience at ROTC camp

WMU ROTC cadets joined officers from the Michigan National Guard for a three-day summer leadership camp on Western's campus and at Fort Custer Training Center. The cadre—which included incoming ROTC juniors and one sophomore who will take a lead role in next year's camp—led 30 students from high schools and colleges in Michigan, Illinois and Indiana through marching and drilling exercises, tactics training, orienteering, rappelling, and confidence and leadership reaction courses.

Broncos take first place in inaugural Air Race Classic Derby

Roberts's business, Transparent Beauty Company, is an eCommerce beauty retailer that focuses on helping customers pinpoint the ingredients that irritate their sensitive skin.

Financial, academic support available for student-parents in need of child care assistance

Applications are being accepted for student-parents interested in the College Assistance for Parenting Education program for fall semester. It offers financial, academic and career support for Pell-eligible students.

High school summer music camp returns to WMU campus

The Health Resources and Services Administration (HRSA) awarded Western Michigan University faculty members a grant of $1.92 million to support the development of a culturally and linguistically responsive behavioral health workforce. It is the third HRSA grant WMU has received in recent years to support behavioral health workforce development.
