Cayuse for Proposal Approval and Human Subjects Research
The Cayuse Research Suite is a system of integrated, Web-based software modules that deliver flexibility and control in research administration. The Office of Research and Innovation selected this platform in 2021. Guidance for implementation and future training will be provided on this page.
If your login fails and you receive a "Forbidden" response, you can request access.
While the initial launch for the Sponsored Projects module was delayed, ROs are able to help navigate the system. For specific questions about the Sponsored Projects Module, please contact Jamie Baker.
Human Subjects Research
Cayuse Human Ethics, or Cayuse IRB, allows users to create and submit research protocols to the WMU Institutional Review Board.
Cayuse IRB includes:
- Electronic submission to replace the paper-based process
- Autofill features and user-friendly forms
- Online access to all recorded IRB projects
- Links for guidance on human subject research
Implementation of Cayuse IRB allows migration of Legacy Studies and creation of new research protocols.
Julia Mays introduces the system dashboard, explains legacy submissions, and demonstrates how to prepare an initial submission.
The sponsored projects module is replacing the legacy "bucksheet". The Cayuse version will provide more autofill features, report options, and task reminders in the user dashboard.
Sarah Pratt introduces the proposal form, demonstrates filling out sponsor and PI information and responds to initial questions.
