Accreditation
The programs offered by the School of Social Work at Western Michigan University are accredited by the Council on Social Work Education, the national accrediting body for social work education across the country. In conformance with the Council on Social Work Education educational policy and accreditation standards, the School of Social Work does not grant social work course credit or field hours for life experience or previous work experience.
The MSW program was first accredited by the Council on Social Work Education in 1969 and is currently accredited through 2032. The BSW program was first accredited in 1975 and is also accredited through 2032.
