Advanced-Standing Curriculum
Students who have earned a bachelor of social work degree from a CSWE accredited program within six years of application may apply to the 39 credit hour Advanced-Standing program. The Advanced-Standing program is available as a full-time 9-month program and as a part-time 24-month program. Both options are available on all three campuses. This program starts in the second summer term.
- BSW degree from a CSWE accredited program that is not more than six years old
- Cumulative GPA of 3.25
- No more than one BSW course below a B. Any BSW course below a B will require retaking an equivalent course in the MSW curriculum
- One of the three recommendations should be from a social worker, (a field instructor or faculty liaison if the applicant has already completed field education).
The above criteria are perceived as being interrelated in the overall assessment of the individual applicant.
