Item Swap

Do you want to get rid of some of your smaller items before you move out for the summer? Or are you looking to grab a few new-to-you items for your home? The Office for Sustainability and the Students for a Sustainable Earth (SSE) invites you to participate in our Item Swap!

Item SwaP at Sangren Mall

Thursday, April  20  from noon to 4 p.m. 
Friday, April 21 from noon to 4 p.m. 

WMU students, faculty/staff and community members are welcome to stop by the Sangren Mall to browse a selection of used items from around town and take treasures home! Items that are leftover will be donated to local thrift stores. This event is free as are all of the items. Participants do not need to donate items in order to acquire new items the day of the swap. We hope that more people will be able to take part and enjoy this event without an obligation to donate items or spend money.

HOw to Donate

You can drop off your items throughout the week between the business week from Monday through Friday from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. at the Office for Sustainability.

If you can’t drop off your items and need assistance, please contact @email. 

Items accepted 

 Items must be gently-used and clean; small furniture, clothes, shoes, school supplies, books, etc. 

We will not accept beds or bed frames. 

Recommended size for item drop off is limited to 3 by 3 ft per person.
