Optional In-person Orientation

Students interested in making a visit to campus this summer can participate in an optional in-person session on one of the following dates:

June 3, 7, 9, 11, 14, 16, 18, 22, 24, 25, 28 or 29

 

NOTE: Prior to your arrival, you will need to complete the Pre-Advising Survey and register for and attend a Group Advising Session. These steps can all be completed in the Student Orientation Hub. Keep in mind that the In-Person Orientation does not have an academic advising component. All of your academic advising sessions will take place virtually.

  • 1910/1920 session location rooms in Sangren Hall

  • 9:30 a.m. doors open

  • Lot #41 parking available (behind Sangren Hall)

The In-Person Orientation session will take place in Sangren Hall rooms 1910/1920. Doors will open at 9:30 a.m., with the program running from 10 a.m. until about 3 p.m. Parking is available in Lot #41 behind Sangren. Parking passes will be emailed approximately two days prior to the event. You will need to print the parking pass and place it in the windshield of your vehicle.  To help make sure you get here safely, here are driving directions and a map of campus.

All students and guests arriving on campus are required to wear a mask when entering buildings and while seated in a classroom. Masks are not required outdoors for groups of 100 or less. Due to limited seating capacity, you may not bring more than one guest with you to the in-person session.

You will also have the opportunity to take care of other University business upon completion of the In-Person Orientation session, including:

  • Pick up your WMU Student ID card at Parking Services
  • Meet with a financial aid representative
  • Visit the WMU Bookstore
  • Sign-up for housing and check out a residence hall room
  • Tour classrooms and laboratories
  • Open a bank account with PNC
