Academic and Career Development

You can access a wide variety of resources to support you throughout your academic journey—from choosing your first classes to finding your first internship to launching your career. It may take time to find the right degree program, so keep an open mind and seek guidance along the way.

Advising at WMU

Throughout your time at Western, advising will be an ongoing relationship between you and your advisor. Some students arrive knowing exactly what they want to study and need specific advice for their major. If your path is less clear, you can take advantage of our Exploratory Advising program and try out options before deciding on a major, finding your purpose and mapping out a flexible plan for the future.
