Academic Advising
Academic Advising at Western Michigan University is a collaborative teaching and learning process. Meeting with your academic advisor early and regularly is essential to completing your academic program efficiently and to your success overall. Advisors are eager to meet with you to help you explore majors and plan your path to finishing your degree.
Writing Center
The Writing Center at WMU is dedicated to creating and fostering a campus culture that values writing as an essential process by which individuals develop scholarly knowledge, critical thinking ability, communication skills and practical wisdom. The Writing Center helps writers at all levels and of all abilities determine strategies for effective communication and make academically responsible choices at any stage in the writing process and in any genre.
Office of Student Transitions
Becoming immersed in the collegiate experience has the potential to change one's personal and career trajectories for life. The Office of Student Transitions is committed to supporting all undergraduate students, including first-year, transfer, and contemporary adult learners. We assist and support students in developing social networks, understanding the expectations of academic rigor, learning about the vast opportunities and resources at Western Michigan University, and preparing for life beyond WMU.
