John Phillips, B.S.'86
John Phillips has been with PepsiCo for over 36 years, working in several different sales and field operations roles since joining the company as a route salesperson with Frito-Lay. Before his current role, John was vice president of customer delivery systems for Frito-Lay. He led the development of new direct store delivery systems and technology and the creation of the business to business e-commerce platform “Snacks To You.” He is currently responsible for working with PepsiCo’s largest customers on supply chain and collaboration initiatives to drive effectiveness and efficiency across the shared supply chain. He also leads PepsiCo’s SMART packaging initiative.
Phillips is a member of the Consumer Brands Association Smart Label Committee, and The Consumer Goods Forum End to End Value Chain and Product Data committees. He is on the Consumer Goods Technology Executive Council, the Global GS1 Data Excellence Board and the GS1 US Board. He is also a member of the WMU Food Marketing Advisory Board. Philips is recognized as an industry expert on consumer packaged goods and retail supply chains, online grocery and digital technologies. He regularly keynotes at global industry events and has won the Supply Chain Digest Best Presentation of the Year award.
Before joining PepsiCo, he spent ten years in retail store operations with Jewel Food Stores and was a territory sales representative for Procter & Gamble. He also holds an MBA from Southern Methodist University.
