Entrepreneurship Forum featuring Daniel J. May

Posted by Amy Coughenour for Haworth College of Business

Daniel J. May is an entrepreneur who doesn’t shy away from challenges. A failed business endeavor was the impetus that emboldened him to take a risk on himself, leading to the creation of an event company, Public Skool. May’s renown cultural events, like Afrofest and Juneteenth Freedom Dinner, brought people from around the state to Kalamazoo—all leading up to him establishing the only Black-owned cocktail lounge in downtown Kalamazoo, Dabney & Co.

May is a former Greenleaf Trust Scholarship winner and graduate of the Haworth College of Business. Since graduating in 2014, he has balanced a corporate career in finance with his entrepreneurial ventures. His mission for Dabney & Co. is to be an inclusive institution that reflects Kalamazoo’s diversity. A successful marketing campaign has gained thousands of followers before the doors even opened—proving that May’s mission is meeting a need in the community.

This event is in person and will be held in Schneider Hall, Rm 2150. Registration is required. Please register here
