New WMU administrator to provide perspective at community breakfast
KALAMAZOO, Mich.—Western Michigan University's continuing evolution will be the topic of the upcoming Mercantile Bank of Michigan Breakfast Speaker Series hosted by the Haworth College of Business.
Tim Terrentine, vice president for development and alumni relations at WMU, will give a presentation titled "For This Time: An Exciting Moment in WMU History" at 8 a.m. Friday, Nov. 18, in 2150 Schneider Hall.
The event is free and open to the public and begins with breakfast at 7:30 a.m. Reservations are required and can be made by calling (269) 387-5964 or at wmich.edu/business/mercantile-rsvp. Free parking is available at Schneider Hall in Lot 72R.
Tim Terrentine
Prior to joining WMU in August, Terrentine worked at Southwest Michigan First, serving the agency in the areas of leadership development, business retention, and expansion and regional collaboration. He has been a part of building community programs such as Catalyst University, Leadership Kalamazoo and the Wake Up Breakfast Series. Terrentine has also served as managing director and consultant for C2 Consulting since 2013 and has experience as executive director of the Douglass Community Association, a teaching assistant at WMU, and school director for Proud to Be Me, one of the signature programs of Derek Jeter's Turn 2 Foundation.
Terrentine has both a bachelor's and master's degree from WMU, as well as a certificate in 21st-Century Leadership from Harvard University, which he earned in 2012. His most recent recognitions include being named to the Top 40 under 40 in economic development by Development Counselors International and the 2016 Golden Apple/Keystone Alumni Award from WMU.
WMU Development and Alumni Relations
The Office of Development and Alumni Relations was established to serve anyone who desires a deeper relationship with Western Michigan University. The office works to increase pride in the University while also meeting philanthropic goals to provide a quality, affordable, state-of-the-art education for students. The Office of Development and Alumni Relations is located in Heritage Hall, home of the WMU Alumni Center.
