Z.D. Shilling Scholarship Award in Political Science for Study Abroad
Eligibility
All applicants must have earned at least 42 credit hours toward an undergraduate degree in political science. Preference will be given to applicants with higher numbers of completed hours in political science. You must be a political science major or minor of some type. Preference will be given to majors, but political science does not need to be your primary program.
Criteria for Selection
Students must have demonstrated overall academic excellence at Western Michigan University and, in particular, political science. Community service and the fit between the study abroad program and the applicant’s career plans or goals will be also be considered
Amount of Award
The amount of the award is up to $1,000 but higher awards are possible if funds are available.
Your application form, personal statement and names of references are due in the political science department office, 3308 Friedmann Hall. Funds will be available to recipients by the beginning of the Spring term.
