Project Impact: An Examination of Stakeholder Expectations and Institutional Positioning for Societal Impact in Business Education

Posted by Christine Stamper for Research and Innovation
Project Impact explores stakeholder expectations for how business schools integrate societal impact—defined by AACSB as "activities undertaken by business schools that over time lead to meaningful, discernable change for the betterment of people, economies, and the environment"—and how WMU Haworth should address the 2020 guidance from AACSB for business schools to increase their strategic focus on societal impact.

Through directional analysis of 15 regional peer institutions and 30 U.S. and global business schools known for their emphasis on societal impact, internal capability assessment, and multi-stakeholder research including student surveys, faculty and staff surveys, and employer interviews, we examine current approaches to societal impact integration and identify strategic positioning opportunities.
