Amber is currently earning her M.F.A. in playwriting at Western Michigan University. She earned her B.A. in Theater Studies and Professional and Technical Writing at Youngstown State University. Recently, her play “The Speedy Gonzales Memorial Turtle Sanctuary” was presented at Region 3 of the Kennedy Center American College Theater Festival, where it placed as a regional finalist. Previous works include: “Foundations” (staged reading at YSU), “Time in a Bottle” (published by the Penguin Review), “Housewarming” (performed in Alpha Psi Omega’s 2015 Evening of 10 Minute Plays), and “Ordinary Heroes” (commissioned by YSUnity, YSU’s LGBTQ+ organization). She has also written several short stories, including “Oasis” (published in Jenny Magazine) and “Flight” (1st place winner of the Tessier Women’s and Gender Writing Contest).
