Title "The Book of Silence" with a medieval knight looking skyward

The Book of Silence

By Heldris de Cornuälle

Adapted by Lofty Durham and Wally M. Cornell

Presented in collaboration with the Mostly Medieval Theatre Festival and the WMU International Congress on Medieval Studies

Co-produced by The Medieval Academy of America's Centennial Grant Program

Supported by the College of Arts & Sciences Department of English/Comparative Drama

In memory of Dr. Clifford O. Davidson, emeritus (1932-2024)

For Nex Benedict, and Tayy Dior Thomas, and Pauly Likens, and the kids we carry unsilent, always. For every trans and non-binary kid finding themselves in old forests and older books. To those kids at the map’s edge seeking not their fortune, but a future.

To my fellow trans community: remember, you are adventure incarnate. Defy the hazards, bite back. Stand proud in your bravery and boundless transformation. Know each of you is a marvel, a wonder. We love you.
