Founder and Principal, Callaghan Public Accounting

CPA, business leader, entrepreneur, veteran—Daniel Callaghan holds many roles and excels in strategy, discipline and leading by example.

As the founder and principal of Callaghan Public Accounting, based in Kalamazoo, Michigan, he leads a team of talented professionals, all proud graduates of WMU. His firm provides cloud-based accounting solutions and tailored financial strategies to support businesses.

In addition to his accounting practice, Callaghan is involved in ventures such as Odyssey Games, where he serves as chief financial officer. He is the managing partner of Callaghan Property Partners, a commercial and multi-family property investment group. These roles reflect his commitment to innovation and collaboration within the local business community.

Callaghan earned both his bachelors and masters degrees in accountancy from WMU Haworth. Now a dedicated mentor to students, he provides internships and speaks at business events to inspire fellow business professionals.

An Afghan War veteran, Bronze Star recipient, and former paratrooper in the 82nd Airborne Division, Callaghan brings the discipline and leadership honed during his military service into his professional life. He shares his success with his wife Kate, a special education teacher and WMU graduate, and their four children.
