The Self-Care Standout

Lead Academic Counselor, The University of Chicago Charter School

Caring for others has always been second nature for Devin Churchill. A management major who maximized her time and relationships at Western Michigan University, Churchill was a member of Delta Sigma Pi, president of the Management Student Organization, a WMU student ambassador, a Haworth College of Business ambassador, a WMU Alumni Association employee, a member of WMU’s Homecoming court, and a Trailblazers finalist. All of these experiences aligned with Churchill’s ability to form meaningful connections with others.

Today, after earning her master’s in school counseling from National Louis University, she works with high school scholars on the South Side of Chicago at the University of Chicago Charter Schools. While receiving her education, she also founded Devine Glamour® LLC, a traveling and virtual natural hair, makeup and nail service business, teaching self-care and self-love on the inside and outside.

Churchill plans to use her passion for people to develop counseling and therapy programs that focus on those in early childhood, in addition to her work with high school students.

First Job:

“Working in early childhood at my family’s preschool business as a camp counselor from age 14, moving to director, and then lead teacher.”
