With nearly two decades of experience in navigating policy and crisis communications, Molly Millerwise Meiners currently serves as the principal deputy assistant secretary for public affairs at the U.S. Department of the Treasury. In this capacity, she manages the department’s spokespersons and drives the day-to-day press strategy for regulatory and legislative priorities. This includes regulatory and financial reform, foreign investment and sanctions, as well as combating the illicit financial networks underpinning terrorist groups, rogue regimes, nuclear proliferators and narcotics traffickers. Meiners began working for the Department of the Treasury in 2004, serving as director of public affairs. After five years, Meiners left the Department of Treasury, excelling in roles at Citi and Reservoir. In 2017, Meiners returned to the Department of the Treasury as principal deputy assistant secretary for public affairs.

Between her tenures in the executive branch, Meiners was a director on the corporate communications team at Citi, where she helped drive the global institution’s public engagement on policy and legislative priorities in Washington, D.C. She also oversaw the financial services practice as a managing director at Reservoir Communications Group, a strategic communications firm focused on crisis, policy and brand management. She began her career in Washington, D.C. on Capitol Hill as the deputy press secretary for the House Republican Conference and later as the press secretary for the Ways and Means Committee.

Meiners received her bachelor’s degree in business administration in management from Western Michigan University. She lives in Alexandria, Virginia, with her husband and two sons.
